The project idea born from the desire  to create a building strongly characterized and recognizable but at the same time integrated and in harmony with the character of the city and the area context

We then thought of a very concise volume, with a simple geometry, and therefore very strong. A single large pitched roof starting from the ground, inspired by the great roofs of the cathedrals , or the buildings or salt of the traditional Bavaria, but contemporary in design and state of the art in construction .

We then thought about the tradition of the beergardens and the gardens along the Danube bank where young people gather under the trees to get together and play on holidays.

We therefore wanted to combine these two traditions and synthesize them in a building with an elemental form and therefore highly recognizable but perfectly integrated between the buildings of the historic center of the city ' .

A tree wooden structure supports the roof leaving exposed the warping and branching of the beams outside, enclosing a single large nave under the two parallel rows of trees inside. The effect is at the same time that of a double row of trees along the river and a large roof of the Bavarian tradition.

The volume of the museum placed parallel to the river is well integrated in the context of the city , on the one hand camouflaging behind the line of trees along the river, and on the other filling the void in the urban fabric construction with a roof inspired by the historical buildings of the city.

The two great souls of Bavarian culture , the urban one with medieval origin, and the rural and romantic one summarized in a building with a clear and contemporary iconic power .

L'idea progettuale nasce dalla volonta' di creare un edificio fortemente caratterizzato e riconoscibile ma allo stesso tempo integrato ed in sintonia con il carattere della citta' e con il contesto dell'area.
Abbiamo quindi pensato ad un volume molto sintetico, di una geometria elementare, e quindi molto forte, un unico grande tetto a due falde a partire da terra, ispirato ai grandi tetti delle cattedrali, degli edifici del sale o dei fienili della tradizione costruttiva bavarese, ma contemporaneo nella concezione e all'avanguardia nella realizzazione.
Abbiamo poi pensato alla tradizione dei beergarden ed ai giardini lungo il Danubio dove nei giorni festivi i giovani si radunano sotto gli alberi per stare insieme e suonare o mangiare sull'erba.
Abbiamo quindi voluto unire queste due tradizioni e sintetizzarle in un edificio dalla forma elementare e quindi fortemente riconoscibile ma perfettamente integrato tra gli edifici del centro storico della citta'.
Una struttura lignea ad albero sostiene due grandi falde di tetto lasciando a vista l'orditura e la ramificazione delle travi. Il risulato e' un tetto di alberi, una unica grande navata racchiusa sotto due file parallele di alberi ramificati ed intrecciati tra loro. L'effetto e' contemporaneamente quello di un doppio filare di alberi lungo il fiume e di un grande tetto della tradizione bavarese.
Il volume del museo posto parallelamente al fiume si integra cosi nel contesto della citta' da una parte mimetizzandosi dietro il filare di alberi lungo il fiume, e dall'altra completando il vuoto nel tessuto urbano con una costruzione a tetto ispirata e coerente  agli edifici storici della citta'.
Le due grandi anime della cultura bavarese, quella urbana delle citta' di origine medievale e quella rurale e romantica delle compagne e delle foreste sintetizzate in un edificio con una chiara forza iconica e contemporanea.
